Dermaplaning vs. Dermabrasion —At A Glance
Dermaplaning
Uses a sterile blade to manually remove dead skin & vellus hair. Great for texture and dull skin. Removes "Peach Fuzz" for smoother finish.
Good for all skin types including sensitive or drier skin.
Great "pre-event" as make up glides on better. Immediate improvement in product penetration and smoothness.
Less effective for heavy texture, thick hyperpigmentation. Avoid with active acne or injuries.
Dermabrasion
Mechanical exfoliation using a diamond tip Suction/Abrasion device. Great for texture, mild tone and sun damage.
Not best for very sensitive skin as skin may be more reactive.
Can reach deeper epidermal layers for more surface refinement. Great for smoothing and product absorption. More collagen activation.

Your Treatment Experience
1. Consultation & Preparation
We begin with a personalized consultation and consent review to ensure the treatment is suited to your skin type and goals. Your skin is then double-cleansed using our Glownar Clear Glow Cleanser, followed by a gentle degreasing step to ensure a perfectly dry surface for precise exfoliation.
2. The Velvet Glow Dermaplaning
Your aesthetician will gently hold the skin taut and use light, precise strokes across the forehead, cheeks, chin, jawline, and nose — removing dead skin cells and fine facial hair for an ultra-smooth finish.
3. Hydration & Protection
Following exfoliation, your skin is replenished with a deeply hydrating and antioxidant serum to restore balance and calm. A soothing mask may be applied for added comfort and glow. We complete the treatment with CBD+ moisturizer for nourishment and SkinCeuticals SPF to protect your newly revealed skin from UV exposure.
Post-Care Instructions
Cleanse
Use CBD+ Balancing Cleanser (primary) or a gentle Skinceuticals cleanser (Gentle Cleanser Cream or Soothing Cleanser Foam).
Moisturize
Apply CBD+ Daily Hydration (primary) or Skinceuticals Daily Moisture (secondary).
Protect
Always finish your morning routine with Skinceuticals SPF (Physical Fusion 50, Matte 50, Clear Daily Soothing
50, Brightening Defense 30, or Sheer 50).
Avoid
For 3–5 days: no exfoliants, acids, scrubs, or retinoids. For 24 hours: avoid sun, heat, sweating. For 7 days: no waxing, peels, or laser.
Frequency
For best results, schedule your Velvet Glow Dermaplaning every 4-6 weeks to maintain consistent radiance and skin renewal.

Your Treatment Experience
1. Consultation & Preparation
Each session begins with a brief review of your skin history and goals. After confirming there are no contraindications, begins your treatment and makes an after care plan.
2. Cleansing & Skin Prep
Your skin is thoroughly cleansed using our Clear Glow Cleansing Foam, then gently degreased with a professional alcohol-based solution to ensure the surface is completely dry — allowing the diamond tip to glide evenly and effectively.
3. The Diamond Polish Treatment
Your aesthetician uses the a diamond tip based on your skin type, and using light strokes, gently polishes the skin across the forehead, cheeks, nose, chin, and jawline. This process lifts away impurities and buildup, revealing smooth, renewed skin beneath.
4. Hydration & Protection
After exfoliation, your skin is refreshed with a moisturizing toner, then nourished with one of our professional moisturizers. Your treatment concludes with a layer of SkinCeuticals SPF, tailored to your skin type, to protect your freshly polished skin.
After-Care Instructions
Immediately after treatment
Apply your CBD+ Daily Hydration or SkinCeuticals Daily Moisture, followed by SPF before any sun exposure.
For the first 24–48 hours
Use a gentle cleanser, Keep skin hydrated and protected.
Avoid
Any exfoliants, scrubs, or retinoids for 3–5 days
Heat, saunas, or heavy sweating for 24 hours
Waxing, chemical peels, or laser treatments for 7 days
