Dr. Eric Bang

Dr. Eric Bang received his Doctorate of Optometry in 1995 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, located in Philadelphia, PA. During his Optometric Internships, he studied developmental vision in Philadelphia, PA, and specialty contact lenses and ocular disease in Charleston, SC.

Owing to his passion for improving the vision of children, Dr. Eric Bang has extensively studied topics such as the use of vision therapy to improve reading skills, and has lectured paraprofessionals and the general public on the visual care of children, the importance of vision in personal development, and options for controlling nearsightedness.

Dr. Bang serves on the Board of Directors for the Vision Leads Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to and public awareness about vision therapy.

Dr. Bang is a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD), an organization dedicated to pediatric vision and vision therapy. He is also part of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA), an organization dedicated to serving patients who have visual, physical and cognitive disabilities as a result of an acquired brain injury. Additionally, Dr. Bang is a clinical associate of the Optometric Extension Program Foundation.

Not only does Dr. Bang care for his patients, but he has a special place in his heart for others in need. He volunteers his time helping those who suffer from addiction, provides vision and learning assistance to underprivileged children, and offers numerous school and community vision screenings.

Eric loves to read and discuss books, especially those that focus on meditation, spirituality, and health science. He loves music, jam bands and playing—fingerpicking style. Most importantly, he adores his five children and his amazing wife, Hannah.
